Check out Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Weedsport, NY…. another great 5/8 clay (dirt) oval that sadly sits idle, becoming overgrown, with no return in sight. Not quite the history of a place like Flemington, but the racing at Rolling Wheels when the big time big-block modified touring series showed up with names like Brett Hearn, Jimmy Horton and “Bare-Foot Bob McCreadie” (RIP) was fantastic!!!

This just unlocked a deep memory I had. Haven't thought about this show in 20 years, now I remember having the movie, some toys, and even a bed cover from this show when I was a kid

When you said TNN decided to air cartoons instead of the restarted race, I immediately thought they had to have been THOSE cartoons - the infamous adult cartoons of Stripperella, Gary The Rat and Ren & Stimpy APC - all of which I covered years ago on my own video series. But then I remembered all those came out in 2003 when TNN was rebranded as Spike TV, so at the very least, NASCAR wasn't pre-empted that day for some of the worst animated shows ever made.
